Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing

Great question! We wish we could give you a definitive answer but there are so many unknowns that need to be explored first.  Once designs have been finalized and permits have been pulled, we can provide costs for the Vertical Build portion of your home.  Up until that point we can only give a preliminary estimate.

We are unable to guarantee or quote prices for:

  • Permits
  • Site Work
  • Landscaping
  • Engineering

Once your design is finalized, the core components that are constructed in the factory will be given a purchase price that does not change.  hybridBuild will provide an estimate to complete the remainder of your home construction. Estimates are based on current price availability and subject to change throughout the course of your project.  We cannot estimate or guarantee work completed outside the hybridCore/hybridBuild network.

Shipping prices vary depending on geographic region.  A customer service representative can provide you an estimate on shipping.

After 14 days, the deposit is considered earned money for services and is no longer refundable.

Often, but not always.  We frequently see cost savings of 10-25% vs traditional build cost but it varies based on geographic location and finish level of the home.

We believe there are other intrinsic qualities to our home that add value without adding cost such as green-ness, the speed of construction, and the quality of design.

Process

A hybridCore Home is a marriage between a factory built “core” and conventional construction.  Once placed on the foundation, the local builder efficiently completes the “easier to build” areas of the home allowing for an exclusive and personal signature on the finished home.

Not at all! Unlike manufactured or mobile homes which are permitted by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), hybridCore Homes are built entirely to the IBC.  The International Building Code is the same governing codes that are used with traditional stick built construction.

Yes, we have pre-selected various upgrades that are suitable to most home builders.   Upgrades are available for almost every finish detail of the home.

A core is the factory built portion of your home which contains wet areas like kitchens, bathrooms, or laundry rooms.  It also contains all the HVAC system, built in appliances, and the electric sub-panel.  The cores leave the homebuilding facility nearly fully finished on the interior including cabinetry, appliances, paint, and lighting.

Unlike manufactured or mobile homes which are permitted by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), hybridCore Homes are built entirely to the IBC.  The International Building Code is the same governing codes that are used with traditional stick built construction.  We use the same materials and techniques an on site builder would use, but gain all of the efficiencies of factory production.

If only it was that easy! There are many steps along the homebuilding journey and we are here to accompany you each step of the way.  Please see the process page for a detailed outline of the steps to building your home.

Please contact the hybridCore office and a representative will be happy to walk through recommendations for lot selections.

Design to permitting generally takes a minimum of 3 months.  From foundation to finish it takes a minimum of 2 months depending on the size of the home.

There are certain steps along the way when we control the tempo.  We move as fast or slow during these periods as our clients would like.  Other steps of the process are out of our control and we must be patient.

Your core or cores will be transported on a transport carrier and then set into place by a crane.  The cores are secured to the foundation by Simpson MASA anchors.

A division of our company called hybridBuild completes the on-site construction.  They can handle most all projects within Northern and Central California.  Our team at hybridBuild is most familiar with our Core products and their pricing structure makes you wonder, “Why not choose them?”.

You are welcome to use your own contractor to complete the project AFTER the cores have been attached to the foundation.  We ask all independent contractors to have a 2 hour consultation with our construction team to become a “Certified hybridCore Contractor.”
